This is not an advertisement, but a proposal-solution for those looking for something distinctive. After many hours of walking, visiting all the “name” stores and the well-known streets, searching for fabric for dining chairs, I came away only disappointed. Some of the shops recommended to me by acquaintances and friends were closed because of the crisis, and in most of the places I visited I found designs from what seemed to be past seasons, “old-fashioned” I would dare say, with a lack of imagination and originality. I was disappointed; I felt that the crisis is everywhere and that we have to adapt our tastes to the new conditions dictated by the period we are living through. Passing by chance through a narrow street in Pagrati, on Aspasias 8 specifically, my eye was drawn to a small shop full of colors and beautiful images. “This is it,” I thought, and I was not wrong. When I entered, I was welcomed by a very sweet and kind presence, willing to help me while first letting me explore the space, the fabrics, and form images in my mind. Incidentally, in the previous stores I had visited, the salespeople tried to direct me toward specific designs. So that was the first element that won me over. As I began looking through the fabrics, I was delighted; I did not know what to choose. A large variety, and all of it tasteful and distinctive. I went all around Athens and finally found what I was looking for in my own “neighborhood.” And because what is good deserves to be showcased, as the editor-in-chief of Nomika Epilekta says, I recommend Mayo deco to you wholeheartedly and with great enthusiasm.

At mayodeco.gr you can get an idea of the products you can find in the store: fabrics, wallpapers, lighting fixtures, furniture; you can shop through the e-shop and contact the decorator Maria Papagrigorakou, who will suggest decoration ideas and solutions for your personal space, including ways to make use of and refresh your old furniture. Maria Papagrigorakou herself says: “A basic condition in my work is to follow the style and needs of the people who trust me, and my goal is to propose solutions that will make them feel happy in their space. I follow decoration trends, stay informed, develop, and work by searching for anything new that will make our lives more beautiful. That is how I created a range for every taste, which is constantly being enriched.”
