A careful look around us will reveal the variety of materials that are considered useless. Materials and elements that, after fulfilling their purpose and the reason for their existence, end up as waste. Consequently, they become objects without value... in other words, rubbish.
Given that designers are choosing less expensive materials and solutions in difficult years marked by global economic recession, Yoav Kotik, a designer and painter from Israel, presented his collection of jewelry made exclusively from bottle caps. He and his team collect piles of discarded beer and soft-drink caps from different places and cultures and turn them into charming, and sometimes flashy, pieces of jewelry.
The collection consists of cufflinks, rings, earrings, brooches, necklaces and bracelets... all made exclusively from caps, which are cleaned, sorted so that the best and least damaged pieces are selected, and then worked into unique items.
In an austere, colourless and rather dispirited age, do something subversive, different, something that will change your mood. We suggest visiting www.kotik-design.com and, why not, buying a piece of jewelry from the E-SHOP so that a cap from COCA-COLA, HEINEKEN, FANTA or BACARDI can adorn your neck or finger.
