After the developments concerning the referendum, the statements of the stern German chancellor, the charming French president, the erratic Greek prime minister, the amateur vice-president of the government, and the various bit players from across the political spectrum, citizens still understand nothing.

Why was the proclamation of a referendum decided... Why did the leaders of France and Germany suddenly meet with our traveling prime minister? What is the constitutional-law professor vice-president seeking with his statements?

What is the program of the opposition? What do the leaders of the smaller parties and splinter groups support? What are the various retired wise men trying to say with their pompous television appearances, those who for so many years supported the programs and governments that led us to the crisis?

How deeply will the well-paid intelligentsia continue to sleep? What are professors of economics, law schools, and universities doing on television screens with their endless statements and cockfights, apart from seeking personal exposure?

How much impudence do morally bankrupt, not financially bankrupt, political offspring possess in order to appear after the shipwrecks of their programs and parties? Why do those jointly responsible for the generalized crisis and havoc in the country not restrain their verbal incontinence?

Why must the citizen's income be reduced in order to maintain the privileges of guilds, taxi drivers, lawyers, party employees, pharmacists, notaries, and the other protected groups?

Why does the resident of the prytaneum of the former palaces exist and receive sustenance? To symbolize exactly what? Unity? The nation? Democracy? His party? The necessity of parades or the legality of economic bleedings?

Why are armies of supreme-court judges, judges, lawyers, members of parliament, state journalists, and others with white collars maintained? To strike, or to abstain from their lucrative professions, which are described as "public functions"?

How many years must the citizen wait for the courts to decide? Will this lifetime be enough? For how many decades will the accused citizen remain under indictment? When will he escape the gears of what is euphemistically called justice?

Why and how are divisions of doctors, engineers, and accountants maintained when there is no elementary healthcare, planning offices have become sources of lawlessness, and tax offices have become causes of economic arbitrariness and unbelievable injustice?

Why do we maintain companies of archpriests, bishops, assistant bishops, with titles, powers, privileges, luxury, and lawlessness, when the teaching of humble Jesus condemns wealth, matter, arrogance, and worldly provocation?

What motivates teachers, professors, and instructors not to support education, progress, and learning, and why do they identify them with their own short-sighted interests?

What drives the constant creation of parties and splinter parties, movements, coalitions, unions, profitable non-profit companies, circles, groups, associations of political talk and empty air?

What do all these people offer except sadness, disappointment, indignation, anger, and finally an immense disgust that ends in resignation with the thought that "they are all the same"...

Our country is not endangered by the crisis. It is not being destroyed by perjured politicians and the others. It is not being dissolved by the swelling of non-productive and parasitic professions, which are marketed as supposed public functions in order to lull and immobilize citizens. It is not humiliated by the foolish statements and acts of decayed politicians with their fiefs and successors, nor by the statements of Kouvelis, with today's maxim that he "forms relationships of trust by redefining political correlations, because society itself is being redefined." And whoever understood that should tell me!

The country is endangered by the wave of disgust that is spreading and growing, because disgust ends in disappointment, resignation, submission, and the margins.
